Single Line Diagram Editor Online

Build an electrical model you can draw, inspect and hand over. Voltformer brings single line diagrams, equipment data, supported engineering studies and project revisions into one browser workspace.

Open project workspace

Sign in, create or open a project, then open its SLD section. Your project documents are private.

Illustrative single line diagram: source, transformer, busbar and outgoing feeders. Not a study result.

From one-line drawing to project deliverables

  • Place electrical symbols, connect terminals and organize busbars, equipment and annotations.
  • Link compatible catalog equipment to diagram elements and inspect the resulting technical properties.
  • Run supported load-flow, fault and other study workflows; review input requirements, convergence and model limits.
  • Save revisions and export diagrams or study deliverables. Available workflows include SVG, PNG, PDF, DXF, JSON and engineering reports.

Create your first single line diagram

  1. Create a project and select a blank diagram or a pre-engineered template (distribution substations, utility-scale solar PV + BESS, or rooftop solar + battery storage).
  2. Enter equipment ratings, voltage levels, source data and connection states. Check actual terminal connections, not just crossing lines.
  3. Validate the model, inspect warnings and run the study appropriate to the question. Resolve missing data before relying on results.
  4. Save a revision and export the drawing with the assumptions and study results needed by the reviewer.

Considering an ETAP alternative?

Voltformer is an option to evaluate for browser-based SLD drawing, catalog-linked project preparation and supported study workflows. ETAP documents a broader integrated modeling and operational ecosystem. Select by your required calculation methods, device models, exchange formats and acceptance criteria; this page does not claim full ETAP equivalence or native ETAP project import.

ETAP Alternative for Single Line Diagrams: A Practical Selection Guide

Engineering scope and review

A drawing is not an approved study. Results depend on topology, equipment data, solver assumptions and the selected model. Review readiness, unavailable results and warnings. Validate safety-critical deliverables against your project requirements and an accepted reference method.

SLD workflows for connected agents

Inspect the public getSldCapabilities tool and API reference. Reading or changing member diagrams requires an authenticated account and the appropriate project scopes. Version checks protect saves; a successful API response is not engineering approval.

Questions before you start

Is this an online single line diagram editor?

Yes. The editor runs in the browser inside a signed-in Voltformer project workspace. This public page explains the workflow without exposing member documents.

Can I transfer an ETAP project directly?

Native ETAP project import is not advertised. Confirm the supported format and reconstruct or exchange only the information the target model actually supports.

Does a DXF or PDF export preserve the calculation model?

Treat drawing exports as deliverables. Retain the structured project data and study package separately; a visual export alone does not establish lossless model exchange.
