Reported scope and milestone
Jacobs: Hut 8 selected Jacobs for engineering, procurement and construction management at its River Bend data center in Louisiana. The facility was described with 245 MW of leased IT capacity under a 15-year agreement.
Engineering interpretation
EPCM integrates design, procurement coordination and construction management; it does not by itself establish that Jacobs owns the facility or performs every trade. Leased IT capacity is distinct from electrical service capacity and operating output.
Delivery responsibilities
Under EPCM, the engineering firm coordinates design, procurement and construction management while the owner’s contracts define who supplies and builds each package. Procurement records, drawing revisions and site work need a common technical baseline. Acceptance responsibilities should cover equipment testing, quality records and commissioning interfaces. A management appointment therefore needs to be read with its authorized work scope; it does not establish a fixed-price turnkey commitment or prove that the facility is already producing at its planned rate.
