Reported project scope
Vår Energi awarded TechnipFMC integrated EPCI for Ofelia and Gjøa Nord in the North Sea. The direct award follows their five-year collaboration agreement signed in 2025 and applies coordinated portfolio execution; first oil within two years is the operator’s stated ambition.
Delivery considerations
Ofelia and Gjøa Nord illustrate how early operator-contractor collaboration can inform an integrated subsea package. Schedule ambitions still require coordinated equipment delivery, installation windows and readiness of the receiving infrastructure. Offshore delivery requires close coordination between manufactured equipment, vessel availability and the existing production system. Pipe supply, subsea equipment and installation can be separate packages or part of an integrated EPCI scope. That contractual boundary matters when comparing contractors: supplying a flexible pipe system does not establish responsibility for the entire field development. Engineering decisions must also address pressure, water depth, connection interfaces and inspection access. The reported award describes future work unless completion is explicitly confirmed.
