Small Modular Reactor Interconnection Design
The approved transmission interconnection incorporates a dedicated 500 kV switchyard bay equipped with SF6 gas-insulated circuit breaker arrangements.
A 350 MVA generator step-up transformer will elevate terminal voltage from 20 kV to 500 kV for feeding clean baseload power into the Greater Toronto grid.

The 300 MW BWRX-300 unit will produce baseload electricity capable of powering 300000 homes continuously without carbon emissions.
High-reliability digital protection systems with fiber-optic differential relays guarantee transmission isolation within 35 ms in the event of an external network fault.
