DEWA’s WETEX seminar roundup reported Alfanar medium-voltage switchgear using dry-air insulation as an alternative to SF₆. It also covered Riyadh Cables’ 525 kV HVDC cable prototype, designed for 2.6–3 GW transmission. Riyadh Cables said its prototypes passed electrical and non-electrical tests; it has manufacturing operations in Sharjah.
