Federal support for grid upgrades
Entergy announced the Department of Energy award on September 30. The $13.7 million will support dynamic line ratings, targeted surveys, substation and terminal upgrades, and related hardware.
Existing lines, added capacity
The company plans to deploy the work across 1,125 miles of transmission lines in Arkansas, Louisiana and Mississippi. Entergy says the upgrades are intended to reduce congestion and increase the amount of power that can be safely carried.
