Hydro Turbine Fast Response
The plant uses 2 reversible pump-turbines capable of ramping to 250 MW full generating capacity within 90 seconds to supply the 132 kV network.
Fast start-up capability provides emergency backup and critical spinning reserve to support intermittent solar dispatch from desert photovoltaic plants.
Storage Capacity and Mountain Reservoir Integration
The facility provides 1500 MWh of storage capacity by circulating water between 2 reservoirs with automated gate controls.
Advanced underground penstock monitoring systems ensure civil safety and optimal hydraulic dispatch efficiency.
