Dubai-based AMEA Power signed a Battery Storage Services Agreement and an Investment Agreement for the planned stand-alone Aftabi battery project in Uzbekistan’s Bukhara region. The agreements were signed in Tashkent on 16 October and reported on 20 October. The project is described as 250 MW / 1,000 MWh and is not reported as operating or commissioned. AMEA Power said the agreements mark a development milestone and that storage can support grid flexibility and renewable integration. The source also noted a separate 150 MW / 300 MWh Uzbekistan battery project whose construction began in May 2026; it is not Aftabi.
