First storage tranche planned
El Post Energético reported on 6 October that Energy Secretary María Tettamanti expects 500 MW of batteries from the Alma GBA programme to begin operating during the coming summer. The government procured the systems to strengthen the electricity network and help cover seasonal peaks.
Additional capacity remains later
The report says a further 200 MW is scheduled for May 2027. Both figures describe planned commissioning dates rather than capacity already online; the stated aim is to add flexibility and reliability to the SADI during high-demand periods.
