Syria’s Agriculture Ministry preliminarily estimates this season’s peanut crop at 17,970 tonnes from about 6,256 hectares. The Ghab Plain in western Syria accounts for roughly 40% of the planted area, while Idlib represents 18%. The ministry’s plant-production director said the area under peanuts was nearly unchanged from last season. The figures remain preliminary estimates, not a final harvest tally.
