Syria’s Agriculture Ministry reported 175,522 operating protected greenhouses nationwide. Tartous had 143,763, about 82% of the total; Latakia had 15,719 (9%) and Homs 13,706 (8%). Tomatoes led reported greenhouse crop use with 87,121 houses (about 50%), followed by strawberries at 18,765 (11%) and cucumbers at 17,701 (10%). These are greenhouse counts, not production tonnages.
