The General Establishment for Seed Multiplication resumed operations at its Raqqa branch after a suspension of about 14 years, the branch director said. For the coming agricultural season, the branch’s plan targets about 7,500 tonnes of wheat seed in durum and soft varieties. Farmer applications for contracts had been open for several months, and the branch cleans and treats raw seed before quality checks. The 7,500-tonne figure is a future production target, not output already achieved.
