Syria’s Economy and Industry Ministry held a groundbreaking for rehabilitation and operation of the al-Muslimiyah cement plant in Aleppo governorate under an investment valued at about US$200 million. State-owned Omran and Türkiye’s Çimko signed a 30-year build-operate-transfer agreement. Plans call for a new integrated line producing 5,000 tonnes of clinker per day, with construction and commissioning targeted within 12 months after site handover. Production had not begun at announcement.
