Explosion damages Jabsa gas export line in Hasakah
Repairs underway; company says household supply is unaffected

The Syrian Petroleum Company said an explosion and fire damaged the Jabsa gas export line at al-Arabidi, about 60 kilometres from al-Shaddadi in southern Hasakah countryside. Officials isolated the area and closed sectional valves on both sides of the damage while crews extinguished the fire and prepared repairs. The company said alternative measures would maintain gas supplies to power plants and household gas was unaffected. Repairs were expected to finish early the following week; normal pumping had not yet been reported restored.
