UN-Habitat and partners report completion of eastern Aleppo water project

Restored pipeline and household connections target about 600,000 residents

Aleppo Governorate, UN-Habitat Syria and Alwaleed Philanthropies Global announced completion of the eastern Aleppo water-supply restoration project. It restored the main transmission pipeline and repaired household connections in Tel Shegheb, Karm al-Myassar, al-Nayrab and Qadi Askar, targeting approximately 600,000 residents. The project also supported community-led restoration of public spaces and roads affected by excavation. The release said access, leakage losses and supply reliability improved, but gave no measured water-volume figures.
