# Earthquake centre and geology agency sign technical-cooperation memorandum

Syria’s National Earthquake Center and the General Establishment for Geology and Mineral Resources signed a cooperation memorandum in Damascus. The bodies plan to coordinate scientific and technical work, prepare studies and reports, and exchange expertise and available capabilities. Geological soil and rock studies and seismic-monitoring data are intended to inform hazard assessment, urban planning, structural design and reconstruction safety; these applications remain prospective.
