A drinking-water project for parts of Damascus countryside and southern Damascus entered service with pumping stations at the Eighth and Fifth Intersections on the city’s southern axis. The project rehabilitated 28 wells and installed booster pumps; SANA said it was designed to improve supplies for about 2 million people. The General Company for Drinking Water and Sanitation in Damascus implemented it with the Syrian Civil Defense, funded by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center. Areas served include Sahnaya, Jaramana and parts of southern Damascus.
