## Erecting High-Capacity Modular Multilevel Valve Halls

As the central conduits of Germany’s 4 GW North-to-South direct current energy highway, the two terminal converter stations will convert 525 kV direct current carried across 700 kilometers of underground cables back into 380 kV alternating current.

At Brunsbüttel, Siemens Energy’s HVDC Plus valve halls have completed heavy concrete shielding walls; while at Leingarten, Hitachi Energy’s HVDC Light station has commenced roofing works and acoustic baffle installation.

## Heavy Converter Transformer Logistics and Cable Pulling

Specialized heavy transport barges have begun shipping the first 350 MVA single-phase converter transformers via the Rhine and Neckar waterways to staging berths near Heilbronn.

The 525 kV DC underground cable pulling operations through pre-drilled microtunnels are running in parallel, keeping SuedLink on track to deliver green North Sea wind power to southern industrial centers by 2028.
