# Stantec joins the Pure Water Los Angeles engineering program

## Engineering interpretation

Potable reuse depends on a coordinated chain of treatment barriers, monitoring and regulatory acceptance. A pilot can test process assumptions and inform operating procedures before a full-scale facility is defined. Conceptual engineering must also connect water-quality objectives with energy demand, residuals management and interfaces to existing plant operations. Program-management and pilot support do not transfer every construction package to the consultant. The local-supply percentage concerns the city’s water-source mix; the daily volume concerns the proposed reuse program.
