Stantec to lead Kingking feasibility and prepare the EPCM tender package

St. Augustine Gold & Copper selected Stantec to lead the definitive feasibility study for Kingking in Mindanao, Philippines, working with Independent Mining Consultants. The release reports 960 million tonnes of reserves and an estimated US$2.37 billion project value; the latter is the development estimate, not Stantec’s contract value. Study deliverables include risk review, trade-offs, definitive engineering, capital and operating costs, financial modelling and NI 43-101 reporting. Stantec also prepares the execution plan, EPCM bid package and long-lead procurement strategy. Preparing an EPCM tender is distinct from being awarded mine construction or operating production.

Engineering interpretation

A definitive feasibility study aligns the resource basis with mining, processing, infrastructure and financial assumptions. Its engineering needs to define interfaces from pit to port and identify where long-lead equipment influences schedule and risk. Cost estimation and procurement planning support later investment and contracting decisions; they do not establish that equipment has been ordered or production commissioned. The reserve tonnage measures the deposit, while the project estimate measures expected investment, so neither is an annual production rating. Contractor comparison should focus on the study, reporting and tender-preparation scope actually appointed to Stantec.
