SRG Global: North Pine Dam staged strengthening

SRG Global says Seqwater engaged it in May 2025 to deliver staged strengthening works at North Pine Dam, about 30 km north of Brisbane. Seqwater’s regional grid draws from 11 dams and supplies drinking water to more than 3.8 million people. SRG Global’s described scope is vertical installation of more than 50 large post-tensioned anchors through the dam wall into its foundation; some anchors are more than 100 m long. The anchors are expected to add around 75,000 tonnes of stabilising force and prepare the dam for later improvement works. The article describes planned work and does not report completion.

Engineering interpretation

Engineering interpretation: the post-tensioned anchors create a direct load path from the dam wall into the foundation, increasing resistance to destabilising actions. Installation sequencing, drilling accuracy, grouting and stressing control are critical because the anchors must transfer force into competent foundation material without compromising the existing structure. This is a staged strengthening package ahead of later dam-improvement work, not a report that the wider program is complete.

Delivery responsibilities

A joint venture, alliance or integrated delivery arrangement distributes responsibility among organizations with different technical and contractual roles. The useful reference is the package each participant actually manages, designs or constructs. Interface registers and acceptance plans should connect those packages without erasing their boundaries. Work at a shared project is not proof that one firm owns the whole contract or completed every asset. Procurement and construction reviews should retain the named partners, the recorded milestone and the distinction between delivery participation and operation.
