Repair outlook at Pearl
Business Leaders Middle East reported on October 4 that Shell CFO Sinead Gorman said damaged sections of the Pearl gas-to-liquids plant could be back in service by the first quarter of 2027.
Gorman said unaffected units could restart once shipping lanes reopen. Shell’s third-quarter guidance assumed zero output from Qatar, reflecting uncertainty over the full restart.
Shell’s Qatar exposure
Shell holds a 30 percent stake in QatarEnergy LNG’s fourth expansion train at Ras Laffan, equivalent to 2.4 million tonnes a year of equity production. The report said that train had continued operating during the disruption.
Shell also reported a 31 percent quarter-on-quarter fall in Integrated Gas production and a 2 percent decline in LNG liquefaction.
