High-Capacity Renewable Transmission Node
The new 500 kV substation ties into the major bulk transmission network and provides interconnection bays for 3 utility-scale solar and BESS developers.
3 autotransformers rated at 600 MVA each facilitate the transfer of 1200 MW of clean generation into the CAISO wholesale electricity market.
Grid Voltage Stability and Power Quality
The substation includes a 250 Mvar static synchronous compensator to maintain transmission voltage stability during rapid solar generation changes.
Integrated digital relays and synchrophasor PMUs provide real-time dynamic visibility with 60 samples per second streaming to grid controllers.
