Supply for local plants
Tribune reported on 5 October that the Crude Oil Refinery-Owners Association of Nigeria called for crude to be made available to domestic refiners on sustainable commercial terms at the Nigeria Oil Refining Summit in Lagos.
Production must also grow
The Independent Petroleum Producers Group said output must rise so refiners do not compete for a limited pool of crude. Both groups argued that upstream production and downstream refining need to be linked; the comments were calls for action, not a new supply agreement.
