# ANEEL weighs waiving R$804.07 million in remaining Proinfa contributions

## A proposal for the final two instalments

MegaWhat reported on 2 October that ANEEL was considering waiving R\$804.07 million in distributor contributions to Proinfa for November and December. The proposal followed extensions of contracts at 83 programme plants and a revised cost estimate. ## The annual cost estimate was revised down

The projected 2026 Proinfa cost fell from R\$5.24 billion to R\$4.22 billion, a 19.47% reduction, according to the report. Distributors had already paid more than their revised annual share, while any excess would remain in the programme account for later treatment.
