Plant commissioned
Extra Catamarca reported on 6 October that POSCO Argentina inaugurated Plant II at Salar del Hombre Muerto, on the Catamarca–Salta border. The plant is designed to produce up to 23,000 tonnes of lithium carbonate a year for export.
Expansion remains planned
The ceremony also included a memorandum to advance later project stages. Those phases remain plans; the report describes Plant II as the facility inaugurated.
