Shooting at Kuru Jenta
Punch reported on 3 October that suspected gunmen opened fire at a mining site near Kuru Jenta, close to the Jos South–Barkin Ladi boundary in Plateau State. Community sources said two people from Heipang District were shot late on Friday.
Police confirmation pending
Community representatives called for an investigation and urged miners to avoid night operations during a state curfew. Punch said it could not reach the Plateau police spokesperson before publication, so the reported death toll had not been independently confirmed.
