Ogun State announced plans for Scheduled Agricultural Produce Reserves in each of its 3 senatorial districts, intended to provide legitimate, de-risked land for cash-crop farmers, especially cocoa growers. The agriculture commissioner said thousands of high-yielding, disease-resistant cocoa seedlings had been distributed across the state’s 20 local government areas; no exact count was given.

The state also said it had provided subsidised fertiliser, agrochemicals and mechanisation support, and planned to procure additional motorcycles for produce inspection and anti-smuggling work. Officials urged traceability, grading and zero-deforestation practices for the 2026 main crop season; the reserve system remains a plan, not a completed initiative.
