NIBSS rolls out Nigeria’s National Payment Stack with Transactility technology

NIBSS designed and developed the National Payment Stack (NPS), a next-generation instant-payments platform for Nigeria, using Transactility’s open-source jPOS technology and jPTS switch. The platform uses ISO 20022 messaging, and NIBSS said its modular architecture combines its own capabilities with selected open-source and enterprise technologies.
NPS supports account-to-account instant transfers, QR merchant payments, phone-number alias addressing and bulk payments. NIBSS retains source-code access and control of the platform’s roadmap and operations.
