NCDMB says Nigerian content in oil and gas reached 61% in 2026

The board’s executive secretary named the ability of local firms to compete and export as the next priority.

NCDMB Executive Secretary Felix Ogbe said Nigerian content in the oil and gas industry rose from 5% in 2010 to 61% by 2026. He said the board’s next priority was to build local firms able to compete and export capabilities internationally, including through financing, equipment development, research and development, partnerships and links to foreign original-equipment manufacturers. At the same conference, chair Ugo Amadi cited high entry costs, lengthy approvals and funding constraints as barriers for indigenous operators. The report does not specify the methodology behind the 61% figure.
