Nairametrics tracked 67 food items across Mushin, Daleko, Mile 12 and Oyingbo in September: 16 prices increased, 36 declined and 15 were unchanged. The average price of a big bag of egusi rose from ₦370,000 in August to ₦480,000 in September, up 29.73% month on month and 118.18% year on year.

The average big basket of oval tomatoes increased from ₦70,000 to ₦80,000 (14.29% month on month), while a 50 kg bag of white or yellow maize fell from ₦50,000 to ₦40,000 (20%). The report linked broad staple easing partly to improved harvest inflows and attributed some increases to security, transport, procurement and bulk-buying dynamics.
