Imo State handed a 170-hectare Ohaji-Egbema site to Craneburg Construction Company, marking reported commencement of physical works on its Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zone. The site comprises 150 hectares for an Agro-Industrial Hub and 20 hectares for an Agricultural Transformation Centre in Oloshi, Ohaji/Egbema.
Phase 1 of the federal SAPZ programme covers eight locations and is valued at $538 million; Imo’s zone was selected for beef and dairy development. Planned works include fencing, roads and drainage, power and water, cold-chain facilities and laboratories. Factories and aggregation centres are future works, not operational facilities.
