The House of Representatives adopted an urgent motion on 20 October calling for stronger action against counterfeit, adulterated and substandard food and beverages. It called on NAFDAC, SON and FCCPC to coordinate nationwide enforcement, laboratory testing and supply-chain surveillance with police, Customs and state authorities.
The House Committee on Health Institutions and other relevant committees were directed to examine enforcement capacity and legislative frameworks and report to plenary within 4 weeks. The resolution is a parliamentary request and review mandate, not evidence that new raids had already taken place.
