# Nigeria broad money reaches ₦146.6 trillion in September

Central Bank of Nigeria data put broad money (M3) at ₦146.6 trillion in September 2026, about ₦7.51 trillion or 5.4% above ₦139.09 trillion in August. M3 increased from ₦123.95 trillion in January to ₦146.6 trillion in September.

Narrow money rose from ₦43.11 trillion in August to ₦44.05 trillion in September, while currency outside banks increased from ₦4.87 trillion to ₦4.92 trillion. Nairametrics reported the CBN figures and cautioned that the data alone do not show how much of the increase translated into spending or inflationary pressure.
