Hybrid Renewable Generation Intertie
The new 345 kV switching station integrates an 800 MW wind farm and a 200 MW / 800 MWh battery storage system into a single transmission hub.
2 three-phase generator step-up transformers rated at 550 MVA each elevate voltage from 34.5 kV collector buses to 345 kV for long-distance power export.
MISO Interconnection and Grid Support
Advanced plant controllers coordinate reactive output between wind inverters and battery systems, keeping power factor within 0.95 leading and lagging.
The complex injects up to 1000 MW of clean electricity into regional transmission corridors, replacing older fossil generation.
