# Navy destroys illegal refining site in Bonny

## Site infrastructure destroyed

Voice of Nigeria reported on 4 October that the Navy’s Forward Operating Base Bonny destroyed the facility on 2 October. It contained three large storage tanks and a cooking pot; the site was first located on 30 September.

## Anti-theft operation

The Navy said the action was part of Operation DELTA SENTINEL, which targets crude-oil theft and illegal refining. The report described destruction of equipment, not an arrest or recovered crude volume.
