Local manufacturing licence
Rolls-Royce and Saudi Engines Manufacturing Company (Makeen) signed an Individual License Agreement on 1 October covering mtu Series 2000 marine engines. The agreement enables local manufacturing and assembly in the Kingdom.
Building industrial capability
The deal builds on a framework agreement signed in November 2023. Rolls-Royce says the initial focus is marine applications, with rail capabilities targeted to follow; no production start date was disclosed.
