What the source reports
On 7 March 2025, Linjemontage announced a contract with Svenska kraftnät for a new 220 kV Horndal substation. The work is described as a turnkey contract, with site work planned to start in May and commissioning about two years later.
Contract and role boundary
Linjemontage’s turnkey scope includes earthworks and buildings, foundations, a new 220 kV switchyard with five line bays, control systems and modifications at the existing station. Svenska kraftnät is the client; network operation and equipment manufacture are not attributed to Linjemontage.
Project context
The new 220 kV Horndal station is being built beside a historic grid node dating to 1931, when the world’s first 220 kV line was built between Horndal and Krångede. Parts of the old station are to be decommissioned after the replacement is energised.
Delivery planning should align acceptance criteria, interfaces and handover records with the named contract parties.
