## Engineering interpretation

The signed contract concerns redevelopment of Hillingdon Hospital on its existing west London site; the announcement is contract execution, before the new hospital is delivered.

## Delivery responsibilities

The reported construction package defines the contractor’s delivery responsibilities. Civil works, building services, installation and commissioning may sit with different contractors or joint-venture partners. The full project budget is distinct from an individual contractor’s award. Contract award, site mobilization, practical completion and operation are separate milestones; planned dates and capacity remain prospective until the owner confirms delivery. The source-defined scope therefore matters when comparing a civil contractor, a construction manager and an integrated design-and-build provider.
