## Nairobi talks and refinery context

Sable Africa reported on 6 October that South Sudan President Salva Kiir and Kenyan President William Ruto met in Nairobi on 5 October. Their discussions included trade and investment, and Ruto thanked Kiir for South Sudan’s participation in the Lamu refinery groundbreaking the previous week.

## No supply agreement announced

The report says neither government announced a signed agreement after the meeting or confirmed that crude supply to the refinery had been discussed. It describes South Sudan’s place in regional supply projections as an estimate, not an agreed commitment.
