Project agreement announced
The Presidency reported on 2 October that President Javier Milei and Glencore CEO Gary Nagle announced an agreement on Agua Rica during a Paris visit. The evaluation committee approved the project’s admission to RIGI.

Investment and schedule
The government release cites Glencore’s estimated capital investment of US$4 billion. Construction is planned to begin in November 2027, so the announcement concerns a proposed development rather than an operating mine.
