Punch reported on 1 October that Fenchurch had started rebuilding the idle 26 MW Akute Independent Power Plant. The project replaces its old engines with new MWM gas engines.

Phased delivery for waterworks

The company expects a 10 MW first phase within 4 months and the remaining 16 MW within 12 months. The plant is intended to supply the Akute intake and the Iju and Adiyan waterworks, with excess electricity going to Ikeja Electric.
