FAO selects Emirati farmer for global women agrifood initiative

The UN Food and Agriculture Organization selected Emirati farmer Khadija Darwish Alqubaisi for its 100 Women Heroes initiative. The FAO said it received more than 600 nominations from 131 countries. The report said honourees were due to be recognised at FAO headquarters in Rome on 15 October; it described the ceremony as forthcoming when published on 9 October.
