What the official release reports
Two new Statkraft contracts bring Elecnor’s synchronous-condenser facilities on the island to four; they include 275/15 kV and 220/15 kV substations and are expected to operate in 2027.
Reading the announcement
An award, engineering phase, equipment milestone and start of operations each describe a different point in a project lifecycle. The contract scope and responsible legal entity matter as much as the company named in a headline. Design services do not establish that construction has started, equipment supply does not prove full-plant EPC delivery, and an initial operating milestone is not the same as completed commercial operation.
Project considerations
For contractor comparisons, it is useful to record the client, country, contract package, status and dated evidence together. Later changes should be tracked through official project updates rather than inferred from a target date alone. These distinctions make capability comparisons clearer and keep performance assessments within the limits of the published source.
