# EGA restarts 631 of 1,262 Al Taweelah smelter cells

EGA said 631 of Al Taweelah’s 1,262 reduction cells were restored and restarted after the March emergency shutdown. Full smelter production remains expected in Q1 2027; the refinery is operating at about 50% capacity.
