Syria is working to rehabilitate date-palm plantations and improve production in eastern Deir Ezzor, SANA reported on 12 October. Farmers, researchers and agriculture organizations gathered for the province’s third Date Exhibition at the propagation center in al-Jalaa, near al-Bukamal. The Agriculture Directorate organized it with the UN Food and Agriculture Organization; the report describes a sector-revival effort, not a completed plantation rehabilitation.
