Senators visit refinery during shutdown

DRTV International reported on 1 October that the Senate’s Economy and Finance Commission had visited the Congolaise de raffinage (CORAF) on 30 September. The refinery, a subsidiary of state oil company SNPC, was stopped for maintenance as fuel shortages affected the country.

Restart expectation

CORAF representatives told the delegation that the refinery supplies about 60 percent of finished petroleum product needs. The senators said they were cautiously optimistic after hearing that production was expected to normalize by 10 October 2026; the report presents this as an announced expectation, not a completed restart.
