Panorama Minero reported on 1 October that Cerro Quebrado won the public tender for El Seguro, a copper project in Malargüe covering the Fausto, Gitana and El Yeso properties. The provincial company Impulsa Mendoza said its board approved the award after the evaluation committee reviewed the sole bid.
What the award means
The award is for an exploration contract with an option to purchase. It does not transfer ownership or authorize mine construction; negotiations on the contract terms remain ahead.
