Wildlife programme at solar site
Arab News reported on 5 October that 38 vulnerable sand gazelles were introduced to a 505-hectare solar park operated by Amaala Sustainable Company for Energy. The facility supplies renewable electricity to Red Sea Global’s AMAALA destination.
Conservation alongside generation
The reserve expects the herd to grow to about 600 by 2031, subject to effective genetic management. The report describes an operational 250 MW solar park and a conservation programme using land beneath and around its panels.
