The AESO-sourced weekly average was C\$39.87/MWh, up from C\$25.60/MWh the prior week. The highest hour reached C\$403.41/MWh on October 1, and all seven hours above C\$100/MWh occurred that day.

## Load and market context

Average internal load rose to 10,001 MW, while peak load was 10,622 MW, below the prior week’s peak. The report says the expensive hours did not coincide with a new demand peak and does not identify a specific supply cause.
